SUPPORT

Every cable order includes a free CD-ROM with drivers, connection software, and synching software (see our FAQ for the differences).

Connecting your phone is as simple as adding any type of peripheral equipment.

Connect your phone to your computer while they are both OFF. Turn on your phone, then turn on your computer. Windows SHOULD detect the phone and run the Hardware Installation Wizard. When it asks for the drivers, put the CD-ROM in your drive and instruct the wizard to look there.

If Windows does NOT start the Installation Wizard, put the CD-ROM into your drive and follow the pop-up instructions for installing your drivers.

Next, you should install the connection software from the CD-ROM (if you have internet access with your cell provider); and/or the synch software (BITPIM). The auto-run feature on the CD-ROM contains a pop-up menu with these software choices. If the menu does not appear when you insert the CD-ROM, then browse the CD's contents via your "MY COMPUTER" icon.

The connection software - either Sprint PCS, Verizon, or Motorola, allows you to use your cell phone as a modem and access the internet via your computer.

The synching software (BITPIM) allows you to transfer data between your cell phone and your computer (i.e. ringtones, pictures, wallpaper, contacts and addresses). Not all types of files can be transferred to all types of phones! See Bitpim support for more information.
